Essential ERP modules for healthcare facilities

Clinics and hospitals need smart tools to handle patient care, billing, and compliance. These are the modules that handle healthcare operations.

Hands recording notes on a clipboard beside a laptop

The business side of a clinic, not the clinical side.

Does this replace our patient records system?

No. Wizard runs the business side of a clinic or hospital: procurement, pharmacy and consumable stock, medical equipment as fixed assets, payroll and accounting. Clinical records, diagnoses and treatment notes stay in your medical system. The two answer different questions and neither does the other one well.

How do we stop writing off expired medicines every quarter?

Stock is held by batch with an expiry date attached, across the main pharmacy and every department store. Items nearing expiry are visible before they cross the line, so they can be used, moved to a busier location or returned to the supplier while a return is still possible.

Why does the same consumable cost two different prices in two departments?

Usually because two people bought it from two suppliers without either knowing. Running purchasing through requisitions and approved suppliers puts every order in one queue, with the price history for each item attached, so a department asking for gloves gets them at the price the institution negotiated.

  • One request queue

Departments raise requisitions instead of calling suppliers directly.

  • Price history per item

What you paid last time, and to whom, before the next order goes out.

  • Approval against budget

The spending limit is checked when the request is made, not at month end.

  • Consumption by department

Which unit is using what, so a jump in usage gets a question rather than a reorder.

How do we know what a piece of medical equipment has cost us?

Equipment is registered as a fixed asset with its location, purchase cost, depreciation schedule and the maintenance spent on it over its life. When a service contract comes up for renewal, you can compare the quoted price against what the machine has actually cost to keep running.

How do we run payroll when clinical and admin staff work nothing alike?

Payroll, attendance, leave and end-of-service run in the same system as the accounts, with different shift patterns per staff group. Night shifts, on-call hours and weekend rotations for clinical staff are handled alongside standard office hours for administration, and the cost posts to the department that used it.

Where does the money in a clinic actually go?

Into staff, consumables and equipment, in that order for most facilities. Because each of those posts to a department cost centre as it happens, you can see the cost of running a unit against the revenue it brings in without waiting for someone to build the analysis by hand.
